Pacific Raceways Road Course
is a SCCA and NASCAR certified, 10 turn (9 turns
with a "kink" on the straightaway), 2.25 mile
course.
There
is a total elevation change of 125 feet, of which
100 feet occurs in 1/2 mile. The road course
winds through natural wooded terrain, making it
one of the most unique and challenging courses in
the United States.
2005:
Our road course users have made clear that Turn
Nine was their greatest concern. We are pleased to
announce that Turn Nine has been completely
rebuilt, with a new radius, a relaxed apex, better
drainage, and all new pavement. This project also
includes a catch fence protecting the corner of
Grandstand A. Visibility has been greatly
increased for the racer, which should heighten
everyone’s enjoyment as cars speed through this
turn.
In
2002 the hot pit lane was moved past the mid point of the straightaway (adjacent
to Grid) and
the track moved right to that point adding turn 10 going back onto the
original straightaway.
In June, 1997, new
pavement was installed in the area between the exit of turn 2 and the exit of
turn 7.
Turns 3 and 3A
were repaved again in 1998.
